Bus Ministry

The Bus Ministry at Bible Baptist Church brings children of all ages to our exciting Sunday school and Junior Church known as Character Connection. (See Character Connection link for details.) We have five buses that pick up riders throughout Stillwater and Perkins. Children three years of age and older are welcome to ride the bus. A bus will stop in front of your house or apartment and a trained worker will escort your child to and from the bus. The time on the bus is filled with fun, singing and games—all with adult supervision.

Adults needing transportation also are welcomed to ride the bus to and from church. An experienced and licensed CDL driver is on each bus. An adult bus captain and other workers are also on board each bus. If you would like your children to ride the bus or if you need to ride, please call the church at (405) 372-7444.

The only word to describe Bus Day 2010: AMAZING! Our goal was to have 160 total riders on the 5 bus routes we run throughout Stillwater and Perkins. It would be a daunting task!

The Lord gave us a break in the rain for a wonderful Tour of Duty outreach on Saturday morning. Several new children and parents committed to come on Sunday.

Despite the rainy and dreary conditions on Sunday morning, boys, girls, moms, dads, and a host of others poured off the buses to enjoy a morning in God’s house.

Everyone was thrilled, even Bro. Austin. The prize lay in wait after the morning service for all who desired to attend. We had an old-fashioned honey and feathering. Bro. Austin took the punishment pretty well as 2 gallons of syrup and half a feathered pillow were poured all over him.

Praise God! Thank you to all who invited someone or came out on Tour of Duty. Special gratitude goes to the faithful bus captains and workers of Bible Baptist Church. Their faithfulness each week to visit, knock new doors, and invest in the lives of the people of Stillwater and Perkins is very evident and appreciated.

Due to the weather we will not be running the buses tomorrow, Sunday, March 21, 2010.
